The ‘did it’ wave that is sweeping African presidents has trickled excitement in Uganda’s opposition politics. Some politicians have predicted that the same will unfold in Uganda. While responding to the threats, State Minister for works, Gen Edward Katumba Wamala threatened that the army will swing into action.
“So, if you bring force to chase him (Mr Museveni) out of State House, we (the army) shall use the same force. President Museveni is our boss. We know where he has brought this country, where we are and the projected future”, Gen Wamala stated.
In his defense to the matter, Gen Wamala explained that legitimate procedures must be followed in the struggle for change of power.
“We are all human beings. No one has authority over his or her life. So we all agree to change a leader in a constitutionally accepted method. We shall have peaceful change of power,” he said.
Gen Wamala said all this yesterday at the launch of the construction of the Lwanabatya – Nakibanga 18 kilometre road on Bukasa Island, Kalangala District.
