Singer Mowzey Radio, real name Moses Ssekibogo passed away at Case Hospital in Kampala at 7am this morning.
Dr. Apiyo Mariam the Inpatient Clinical Director at the hospital recounted the moments from when the singer was hospitalised in the intensive care unit on January 23rd till he breathed his last.
Radio’s hospitalisation followed a brawl at De Bar, a hangout joint in Entebbe.
“He was brought from Nsambya Hospital at about midnight on January 23rd. He was unconscious with low mental state with head injuries,” she told the media in a briefing this morning at Case Hospital.
“A CT scan showed bleeding in the brain and emergency surgery was done that same night to remove the clot,” Apiyo said.
“He seemed to be making progress and was removed from mechanical ventilation. On Saturday he was put back on mechanical ventilation because his situation was deteriorating,” she said.
The doctor said Radio had several convulsions and seizures.
Radio was pronounced dead this morning of February 1, 2018 at 7am.
The owner of De Bar in Entebbe George Egesa and one other person identified as Xavier Rukere are being held by police and their charges are expected to be upgraded from assault to murder after a post mortem is carried out at Mulago Hospital. Another suspect one Troy Wamala is still on the run.
Radio passed away a few days after his 34th birthday that he was not able to celebrated as he was in the intensive care unit fighting for his life.
