Uganda Cranes’ Kizito Luwagga to face Arsenal in the Europa League round of 32

Kizito Luwagga in action for Borisov

As you were busy debating whether Manchester United will make it past French Giants PSG, you forgot that we have our very own Ugandan players trading their football in Europe.

And they will be showcasing on the big stage against their childhood heroes. In the first knock-out round draw of the UEFA Europa League, English giants, Arsenal will face BATE Borisov – the team where Uganda Cranes’ Kizito Luwagga is currently trading his craft.

Luwagga joined the Belarus outfit this year from Romanian side Politehnica Iași. BATE also has former Gunners player Alexander Hleb in their squad.

With the first leg slated Valentines Day, Luwagga will look to make home fans proud and sad with an outstanding performance in the game.

He will be the second Ugandan player this to play against Arsenal after Ronald Mukiibi, a Swedish footballer of Ugandan descent played for Östersunds FK against Arsenal in Europa league group stage.
