America’s power couple, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had been tipped to become Uganda’s tourism ambassadors following their October visit to Uganda. However, that seems to have changed after Miss Uganda, Quiin Abenakyo’s historic achievement at the Miss World 2018 finals winning the African continent crown on Sunday.
According to the chairperson of the Uganda Tourism Board, Urban Development Minister, Daudi Migereko, Abenakyo has done the Pearl of Africa proud by shedding a positive light and as thus, will be rewarded with the tourism ambassador role.
Migereko says her excellent show will immensely benefit the country if properly utilized.
“Quiin Abenakyo has done us proud. She put up an excellent show and as a country, we are bound to benefit immensely as a result of publicity she has given to Uganda, ” the minister explained.
Migereko further revealed that the beauty queen will be given the role of the tourism ambassador for the country.
Abenakyo, the founder of the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ project is set to return from China in a week’s time and will immediately kickoff her charity works to teenage pregnancies and school dropouts in Uganda.
