Early Christmas for ‘Bless A Child Foundation’ as they seal partnership deal with Smack League

As The Smack League (TSL) entered match day 10 over the weekend last Sunday, the league officially launched its partnership with Bless A Child Foundation(BCF), a non-governmental organization. BCF provides care support services to children from the ages of 0-12 years suffering from cancer and related infections.

As part of the partnership, BCF  will join TSL match days and support The Devils (99-04) who shall carry the BCF as their shirt sponsors in the League.

BCF shall also play friendlies in season three with select TSL sides with the kids shall joining the match day atmosphere to participate in football, jumping castle and other games, hosted by TSL.

The initial three years’ ‘marriage’ between both parties tasks TSL to throw the children a Christmas party in the mid-season break. Before the party, TSL shall hold a fundraising drive to source supplies for the homes; both domestic and food stuffs.

According to Brian Walusimbi, the foundation was founded in 2007 as a result of him realizing need that paediatric cancer patients in Uganda had inadequate access to medical care and support.

Years after starting the project, Walusimbi and his team have managed to set up a home in Kampala and in Gulu.  They are also planning to set up a new home in Mbarara to provide accommodation, food, education and subsidized medicine to children suffering from cancer.

The SMACK League continues this Sunday at Legends grounds in Lugogo.
