Edward Sebuufu alias Eddie Mutwe, a bodyguard to Kyadondo East legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has this morning been granted bail by the Gulu High Court.

In presence of family, friends and counsels, Komakech Kimala and Asuman Basalirwa, Justice Stephen Mubiru accepted Eddie Mutwe and his co-accused Musa Ssenyange’s bail application ordering them to return to court on December 3, 2018, together with 33 others who are facing similar treason charges.

Eddie Mutwe and Ssenyange, a driver and machine operator, were on September 11 arraigned before Gulu Grade One Magistrate, Yunus Ndiwalana, and charged with treason just hours after the High Court in Kampala ordered for their unconditional release because they were being held illegally following their arrest on August 25.

Relatedly, a section of supporters from the People Power camp on social media has started a campaign dubbed “Free our Tundra.”

The Toyota Tundra vehicle belonging to Bobi Wine went into police’s hands after the Arua chaos in August after his driver, Yasin Kawuma was shot and killed in it by security forces.
