I am not sure whether Kyarenga Concert will happen – Bobi Wine speaks out

Following mixed reports surrounding the much anticipated Kyarenga Concert, the main act, Bobi Wine has finally delivered a statement explaining how the event has been frustrated.

In his statement, Bobi Wine says him and his team have done everything within the law to ensure that the concert happens but people in authority especially the security directors have continuously tossed them around like coins.

“We have done everything required of us by law but it is apparent that the people in authority are doing everything possible to frustrate the concert,” part of the statement reads

Bobi Wine who has been in Kenya on private duties had to cut his trip short when the concert’s organisers told him that the Inspector General of Police, Okoth Ochola informed him that he could only meet them if he [Bobi Wine] was around in person.

But the meeting flopped as the IGP remained in a closed-door meeting at the Naguru Police Headquarters from 8am to late in the night.

“As things stand, the concert has been left in balance. A lot of money and time have been spent on advertisements and preparations. Dear fans and friends, I am not sure when or whether the Kyarenga Concert will happen. But I advise those in authority to desist from these provocations. I am a Ugandan artiste with a legitimate right to stage a concert,” Bobi Wine states.

According to the singing legislator, the concert had been initially scheduled for October 13 but Namboole’s management asked Wine’s team to reschedule to the 20th citing a Uganda Cranes vs Lesotho game. Now the same management says October 20th is already booked by a wedding.
