PHOTOS: When Museveni said Kampala will be different in nine months, he had the Kampala flyover in mind

The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has commisioned the construction of the Kampala flyover project with a goal to decongest and add glamour to the city. 

The project worth Shs300bn and is funded by the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The flyover project, to be executed in phases will start at Clock Tower in Kampala through Kibuli, Nsambya Traffic Lights and connect to Mukwano Roundabout in the first phase.

The second phase will connect through Kitgum House, Garden City, and Jinja Road. 

The flyovers will connect outwards to the proposed Kampala-Jinja and Kampala-Mpigi expressways.

On Monday, September 17, UNRA announced that it had awarded three contracts worth Shs629 billion to Japanese companies that will construct the flyover starting January 2019.
