Kiti children’s soccer tourney on this weekend

Times change. Remember the days when parents used to drag children from football grounds to home?

Nowadays it is the reverse: children are dragged from their PlayStations to the pitch.

Patrick Ayiga Obita, however, believes getting your children in sport need not be hard work, and that is why he came up with Kiti Children Sports Initiative that trains
children between 7-13 years in different sports disciplines.

The initiative which has run for two years now has more than 200 children participating in various sports activities and returns this Saturday, September 8 at the ‘Kiti Children Soccer Tournament.’

The fun-filled event will be held at Shamon Teachers’ College, Mulawa. Various teams are expected to grace the event where Kiti will field 10 teams.

“I call upon all parents to come and see their children showcasing skills and talents on the pitch. Being on the sidelines and watching your child play motivates him/ her to do better,” said Kiti head coach and founder Patrick Obita.

He added that winners will be rewarded with balls, kits, and school requirements among others. Charges are Shs20,000 per month during school term and Shs100,000 during holidays
