In his acceptance speech for the award of the best journalist, NBS TV’s Raymond Mujuni called upon the powers that be to release to detained singing politician, Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine who is currently detained at Makindye Military Barracks pending his appearance before the General Court Martial on Thursday got the most applause at the star-studded event in Serena Hotel’s Victoria Ballroom.
Chants could be heard from the guests saying “Free Bobi Wine”, “People Power” among other slogans.
Bobi Wine was arrested in Arua on Monday night where he was campaigning for the independent candidate and eventual winner, Kassiano Wadri.
