Lawyers, MPs and Barbie denied access to Bobi Wine, they fear he is badly hurt

The family, lawyers and Members of Parliament have been treated with a surprise at Gulu Military Court after they were denied access to the arrested singing politician, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine).

Bobi Wine is scheduled to appear before the General Court Martial today but according to his lawyer, Hon Asuman Basalirwa, the court has not convened and there is no sign of Bobi Wine at the premises.

“They have told us a lot of confusing things. They say Bobi Wine was taken to Arua and at the same time, they say he will be tried here. We suspect he was badly tortured,” Basalirwa told journalists out of Court.

Bobi Wine’s wife, Barbara Itungo who is also in Gulu says the military is unrelenting to her pleas to be allowed access to her husband.

“I am his wife. Surely I am allowed – even by law to see my husband. He is a father, brother, and husband,” she cried out.

Matooke Republic has learnt that even the six-man team that the Speaker of Parliament sent to Gulu on behalf of Parliament has also been denied access.

The team has been successful in accessing MPs Paul Mwiru, Gerald Karuhanga, Arua MP-elect, Kassiano Wadri, former MP Michael Warike. Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake is said to be getting medical attention at Gulu Hospital after being tortured.

According to Jinja East MP, Paul Mwiru, they have been charged with treason as well.
