BREAKING NEWS: Bobi Wine remanded to Makindye Military Barracks till August 23

The General Court Martial chaired by Gen Andrew Guti has remanded Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine to the Makindye Military Barracks until August 23.

Contrary to what the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister told Parliament yesterday, Bobi Wine was not charged with treason like the 33 that were arrested with him.

Instead, the singing politician was charged Bobi Wine with illegal possession of military hardware that is firearms and ammunition.

The charges follow a police search of his hotel room in Arua that reportedly revealed two SMG guns and bullets. The hotel management has since rubbished these claims.

Brig. Richard Karemire, the UPDF spokesperson says that Bobi Wine violated the UPDF Act by possessing items known to be a monopoly of the Defence Forces.
