Police hunting for top Kayihura aide Baroza, force threatens to declare him a deserter

The Inspector General of Police, Okoth Ochola has revealed that Kayihura’s top aide Jonathan Baroza is on the run and is being hunted in “all corners of the world.”

Baroza, an assistant commissioner in the police fled for the heels after his boss, Kale Kayihura was arrested in early June.

“Who has seen him? We are looking for Baroza in all corners of the world,” the IGP told the press at the Police Headquarters in Naguru.

In a letter to the interim Human Resource boss, ACP Moses Muluya, if Baroza does not turn up at his station by end of this month, the force will declare him a deserter. This will mean that he will face the Court Martial if arrested.

Kayihura, in 2017, posted Baroza to Algiers, the Algerian Capital as a Liason Officer for Uganda Police but the officer has not been at the station since June 2.

Summons for the officer from Kampala have gone unanswered and his last known location is Atatürk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey.
