The Indian High Commissioner has bowed to pressure from a group of 15 Indians associations living in Uganda and added six petitioners to the committee organising Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s inaugural visit to Uganda.

Modi’s visit had split the Indian community in Uganda with some threatening to boycott the highly bid event due to poor accountability by the organizing committee.

Shri Ravi Shankar, the Indian high commissioner yesterday on Kyadondo Road in
Kampala held the crisis closed-door meeting and agreed to add six members on the committee for the July 24 visit.
