With several Ugandans outraged by the newly introduced social media tax, current affairs analyst Tamale Mirundi has weighed in. He blames ‘hungry’ government officials for spearheading the implementation of the tax.
“This is a move by thieves who are looking for what to steal. These people have made people very poor”, Mirundi said while appearing on his weekly NBS TV Show.
The motor mouthed speaker further stretched that the certain elements have made it a mission to ‘drill money’ from Ugandans. According to Tamale, the ‘mafias’ have encroached all possible income sources for a common citizen like markets, transporting system among others.
However, keeping loyalty with President Museveni, Tamale defended his acceptance of the tax saying; “ I compare this government to a football team that has good defenders without scorers”.
