Speaker Kadaga blocks parliamentary debate on Kayihura’s arrest

With different reports coming in surrounding the arrest of former IGP Gen Kale Kayihura, Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has blocked efforts by some section Members of Parliament to compel the house to discuss the arrest of the former IGP.

 

The move to debate Kayihura’s arrest was  spearheaded by Hon. Sam Byibesho, the Kisoro district MP. The legislator wanted  government to explain why  Kale Kayihura, who hails from his constituency, was arrested.

He also questioned why the former IGP has been held for more than 48 hours without being produced before the courts of law.
