KCCA, Police endorse first ever Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run due this Saturday

All roads will this Saturday lead to Torino Bar and Restaurant, Kololo for the first ever Kampala Tusker Lite Night Run. The night fun run, the first of its nature in Uganda, has created a lot of excitement among fun loving people in Kampala.

However, there were also several questions majorly about the safety of the participants from sections of the public. But earlier this morning, officials from KCCA and the Uganda Police came out and endorsed the night fun run, and as well reassured the public about the safety of all participants during and after the run.

Police reassured revelers of the command’s resolve to protect their lives and property on Saturday when the event takes center stage in the heart of Kololo, and confirmed a firm security plan which includes deploying of over one hundred armed personnel across the 2km route to be used by the runners in Kololo.

KCCA on the other hand reassured participants that besides approving the run, they had ensured the route has ample lighting along the route, so that runners have a clear sight of the route.

“As the city administrators, we can confirm the night run has been approved to go on, and the lighting plan is set,” said Robert Kalumba, the deputy spokesperson, KCCA.

Flag off for the run which starts and finishes at Torino Bar is scheduled for 7 pm. After the run, participants will treated to performances by Fik Fameica, Cindy, Toniks, Beenie Gunter as well as music from DJs Simples, Xzyl, Ciza and DJ Mary Jo.
