With the recent wave of kidnap across the country, Katwe Police has arrested Grace Kyosimire for faking her own kidnap. In a statement made by one of the family members at police,  27-year-old Kyosimire disappeared from home, and started sending messages to her family using her phone claiming that she was in the hands of kidnappers.

The family was requested to part with Shs4m in ransom, lest she would be killed. Unfortunately for her, Kyosimire’s plan didn’t come to pass after choosing to change plan and claim she had been killed, asking the family to send money for transporting the body.

On getting such information, her family decided to report the case to Katwe Police station who decided to use Kyosimire’s close friend to trap her. According to police, her close friend was asked to call her and fix a lunch appointment at a restaurant located at Mega Standard Supermarket, to which she obliged and was eventually arrested.

During an interrogation with police, Kyosimire revealed that she had huge debts and wanted to settle from the ransom her family would have paid. She is currently detained at Katwe Police on charges of demanding money by menaces.
