At the launch of the annual Tokosa Food Festival, comedian Patrick Salvador emerged winner of the random cooking competition.  Salvador did not win this because of being part of the hosts of the 4th edition come Sunday,  June 17 2018 but rather got almost all his cooking tricks right.

This year’s edition is bigger and better as it will be held at the spacious UMA Show grounds, Lugogo.  According to the organizers, the festival will be a fun-filled family event with lots of entertainment, games and a variety of goodies to be won. Unlike the previous editions, more cuisines from around the global have been added and over 100 food vendors are expected to showcase at the Tokosa food court.

“The Tokosa Food Festival idea was borne out of the ‘Bring on The Good Times’ Shell Gas brand campaign, as a platform to celebrate a growing vibrant food culture in Kampala as well as an avenue to promote culinary experience for Ugandans.” Said Mr. Gilbert Assi Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda.

Before adding that part of the proceedings from the event will go to Grace Villa in Kabale, a foundation that provides support to disadvantaged girls. Shell gas being the main sponsor of the event, .Gilbert revealed that they will be also giving a new Shell Gas Kitchen with a year’s supply of free gas to the foundation.

Other partners of the festival include; Coca-cola, Jumia Food and Ugachick.
