Singer Eddy Yawe has reportedly gone solo! According to our sources, Eddy Yawe has quit Afrigo Band, which is Uganda’s oldest and arguably most loved music band. The singer threw in the towel due to unresolved differences with the band’s management over performances.

A source alleges that Eddy Yawe has been having conflicting interests following the massive success of his hit song ‘Tukigale’ featuring Carol Nantogo. We have been informed that Eddy Yawe has several bookings to his name thanks to the song. At the same time, it is a public secret that Afrigo Band is one of the most sought after music acts in the land.

When the band management sat down with Eddy Yawe to resolve the conflict, the parties did not reach an agreement. Eddy Yawe, who is a brother to singer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, thus thought it wise to pursue a solo journey. Afrigo Band was founded in 1974 and continues to cultivate its legacy of electric live performances and timeless songs.
