Old boys of Namilyango College under their alumni umbrella NACOBA will this Sunday, March 11, converge at the Makerere University Business School playground to renew old sports rivalries and catch up.

Now in its ninth year, the annual sports gala will see 24 cohorts compete in different disciplines including soccer, rugby, tug of war, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, chess, scrabble, egg on spoon, sack race, 100m and 200m sprints and 100mx4 relays.

The event will also double as the launch of the school’s 116th anniversary celebrations that will be held on Saturday, March 24, at the college. There will also be a fundraising drive to raise Shs100m to tarmac the main driveway from the main gate to the school and also improve the gate to a status that befits the school.

On the field, it will be a strictly OBs affair as all participants are expected to be alumni of Namilyango College, but since it is a boys’ only school, the rules have been relaxed to allow a female player who didn’t go through the Namilyango gates to participate.

Off the field, family, friends and well-wishers will not be kept away as there is a lot in store from them. It will be a family friendly event with bouncy castles for the little ones and a festive affair with lots to eat and drink at affordable prices.

There will also be a testimonial volleyball game between KAVC KIKs and NACOBA United.

The event kicks off at 9am and Ngonians are serious about time as a walkover will be automatically awarded for failure of a team to show up on time.
