NRM leaders collecting signatures to have EC boss Tanga Odoi sacked

National Resistance Movement (NRM) district leaders yesterday kicked off a campaign to have party Electoral Commission boss Dr Tanga Odoi sacked. The district leaders are collecting signatures to petition to the party chairman Museveni President to kick Tanga Odoi out of office.

Joseph Sewava Mukasa, the national youth coordinator during a media briefing yesterday said the district leaders need to raise at least 250 signatures  to petition President Museveni about Tanga Odoi’s “indiscipline and bad conduct.”

Tanga’s alleged indiscipline and misconduct stem from his fallout with party Secretary General Kasule Lumumba over management of party affairs. Last week, she announced that the party had insufficient funds to pay over 317 workers. However, Tanga Odoi revealed that the party’s payroll had been infiltrated by several ghost workers.

He described Lumumba as a good dancer but poor manager.
