NRM launches campaign to extend presidential term to 7 years

Today, February 25 the National Resistance Movement (NRM) is celebrating the passing of the age limit law by MPs in December last year.  The law removed the 75-year age cap and lowered the 35-year limit to 18 years.

Speaking at the function in Kiboga, Ruth Nankabirwa stated that the event is being held to “make a statement”.

“People have been making allegations that after passing the amendment, we have been hiding in Kampala fearing to go to our constituencies, I organised this function to make a statement, and after here”, she stated.

The ruling party is also launching ‘Align and Arrive’ campaign aimed at extending the presidential term and other elective positions from 5 years to 7 years.
