The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has recalled Lacatalis infant milk products from the market for following a research that showed its products are contaminated with Salmonela, an organism which can cause fatal infections. The French firm processes dairy products like; Picot, Milumel, and Celi powered infant milk.

“The UNBS is carrying out market surveillance inspections to ensure that affected products are removed from the market and carry out further laboratory tests to establish whether the products on the market are contaminated,” part of the issued notice read.
