With the opposition having lost the age limit bill battle in parliament, some religious leaders have  come out to condemn the manner in which the bill was presented and later passed in parliament.

Kinkizi diocese Anglican Bishop, Dan Zoreka, is one of key members of the clergy who came out and urged President Museveni not to sign the bill into law.

However, as expected this seemed not cool for the government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo who sarcastically asked the religious leaders to mind their spiritual obligations or else directly announce that they have joined politics.

While appearing on the NBS TV Frontline Show, Opondo said; “If church leaders think MPs are not good, let them keep their MPs until election time, or they should take it on to contest. We shall test the popularity of what they stand for.”

This comes in a situation where opposition MPs had condemned the clergy for keeping silent on big decisions that affect the country.
