Red Pepper directors and editors have today been released on bail by the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates court.
While delivering his judgement, Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Eremye Mawanda who represented Grade one magistrate Samuel Kagoda stated; “I have considered the fact that the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty and it would be necessary to be given their liberty”.
“The accused should deposit their passports with the court until the matter is disposed off and if they are with police, the responsible people are tasked to produce them to court,” he added.
Each of their sureties were given a non-cash bond of Shs20m. Hearing of the case has been adjourned to January 19th 2017.
