Go mourn from your home. You can’t be poor and think you can win a war — Tamale Mirundi says opposition MPs can’t defeat age limit amendment

Tamale Mirundi has laughed off efforts by opposition MPs. He insists that their struggle to halt the amendment of age limit will bear no fruits.

“If a man demolishes a door, is the ventilator too much for him to handle? If Museveni removed term limits, will he fail to do the same for age limit. The problem isn’t about years, let them(MPs) not change from 5 to 7 years but should do away with the Age Limit so that anyone can stand for presidency”, he stated while speaking on NBS TV.

He started that opposition leaders have fear for the president and don’t believe that they can defeat him.

“Every time you fear President Museveni, people stick to him. Politics is about capturing power, retaining and controlling power. The opposition doesn’t believe that President Museveni is defeatable (sic), “he stated.

Tamale noted that the opposition have failed to provide solutions to citizens and thus they command much support.

“If I start a political party today, I’d bring people issues. In Uganda, Opposition has failed to understand why they’re always defeated. You can’t have an opposition that doesn’t fight for its people. The opposition of Uganda is poor. You can’t be poor and think you can win a war”, he stated.
