Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta is heading for a landslide victory after his arch-rival Raila Odinga pulled out of the race, even as IEBC continues to tally votes from across the country after a day marked by poor voter turnout.
National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga urged his opposition supporters to boycott the fresh poll, even as his Jubilee counterpart hit the ground running with a series of country-wide campaigns calling upon his supporters to turn-out in large numbers and vote for him.
Here are the Provisional Presidential election results for yesterday’s repeat poll (as of 8:30am today) as released by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC);
Reporting Polling Stations: 11,029 out of 35,564
Uhuru Kenyatta – 1,971,712 votes 98.06%
Raila Odinga – 23,452 votes 1.17%
Joseph William Nthiga Nyagah – 1,622 votes 0.08%
Meanwhile, IEBC chairperson, Wafula Chebukati says that latest actual figures from 267 constituencies show that 6,553,858 Kenyans turned out to vote in Thursday’s repeat presidential election.
