Unlike opposition’s Togikwatako campaigns that have marred by chaos, arrests, tear gas and sadly, death at one rally, NRM yesterday launched “Gikwateko” literally meaning- touch it,in great pomp, booze and merry-making at Siverton Gardens, Rubaga amidst police protection.
Tamale Mirundi and several NRM members warned those decampaigning the age limit bill.
“The Constitution will be changed no matter what. Museveni is like the pope, and if we shall give him more time because it is us that vote for him. A thief does not tell you what padlock you should buy”, Tamale Mirundi stated.
He also warned members of the opposition who are threatening violence towards people supporting the removal of age limit that they will be dealt with harshly.
He said he will not hesitate to shoot or beat whoever dares to touch him.
They also launched the yellow ribbon to counter the red ribbon campaign.
