Comedian Alex Muhangi has shifted his weekly Comedy Stores show to neighbouring 400 Bar and Restaurant in Bukoto. The move reportedly comes after Muhangi fell out with his former host- Diners Lounge, also based in Bukoto. According to reliable sources, trouble between Muhangi and Diners management started when the comedian decided to put the weekly theme night on hold as he traveled to the US for the UNAA Convention recently.
Sources told us that the hangout’s management tried to convince Muhangi to give them a plan to follow in the period he would be away, but the comedian insisted on having shows resume when he returned. Diners was having none of that, and management went ahead and got other comedians to fill in for the two weeks Muhangi was away.
Muhangi returned a few days ago and didn’t seem one bit happy with the move, but still went ahead to organise another show last week. It was after that show, according to sources, that the two parties had a meeting earlier this week but only ended up having a major disagreement over finances. Muhangi is said to have made a post indicating that he needed a new venue for the show, shortly after he stormed out of the meeting. Well, Muhangi didn’t have to go far or even wait so long; he matched to neighbouring 400 bar and concluded a deal. Muhangi told us Comedy Stores returns next Thursday, but at 400 Bar and Restaurant this time!
