After taking a break from radio talks about land matters, president Museveni is set to return on air tomorrow. The president will hold the second leg of the radio talks that will cover Eastern, Karamoja and Northern Uganda.
The radio talks are an avenue for the president to explain the government’s stand on the land amendment bill which is yet to be tabled before Parliament. The bill seeks to amend Article 26 which will give the government leeway to use the land gazetted for public infrastructure development after depositing compensation money agreed by the chief government valuer to court pending determination by court of any dispute relating to compensation.
According to reports, the president felt the bill was misrepresented to the public as scheme to grab land thus he needed to explain it further by engaging with the public.
