Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club today kickoff their title defense campaign of the 2017/2018 Azam Uganda Premier League as the play host to newly promoted Maroons Football Club at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo today, Tuesday.
Despite losing a range of experienced and reliable players the likes Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Joseph Ochaya MVP’s for the past two seasons, Brian Majwega, Robert Ssentongo, Tom Matsiko and more, coach Mike Mutebi thinks he still have a very good group that can even surpass last year’s heroics.
“I believe in the team I have, very well balanced side in all departments, we just need to find our rhythm and maintain that.” stated Mutebi
“Our team has never shied away from creating goal scoring chances; we need enough options in front of goal to bury them. Last season we scored a total of 56 goals, we must better that this term.” He added
According to Mutebi, his team’s ambition this season is to fight and retain the league.
“We must defend the league, that’s our ultimate target as a club, and that means being better than we were last season.” He confidently stated
The fixture comes days after the 12 time league champions successfully defended the FUFA Super Cup with a 3-0 win over Paidha Black Angels.
