The NSSF-KAVC International annual volleyball tournament is on this weekend starting Saturday August 19 and running up to Sunday August 20. Seventeen local and eight foreign clubs are expected to participate in one of the most competitive events on the volleyball calendar in the country.

The tournament is organised by Uganda’s oldest and most successful club, Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club and it will be held at different venues which include; Mubs, Namboole and Lugogo Indoor Arena. With a huge sponsorship deal worth Shs80m from NSSF, the winners in the two categories (men and women) will take home Shs3.5m each, runners-up Shs1.8m and the third-placed team Shs1m. Last year, Rwanda’s UNIK and Kenya’s Aspire won in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.
