When the officers approached the vehicle, Massa reportedly sped off and almost knocked other officers and a motorcyclist.

“We are likely to prefer charges of attempted murder and reckless driving in the case we are investigating,” said Kayima in a short statement.

Mr Massa is said to have sustained injuries when he braked instantly and hit his head on the windscreen.
