Ahead of Rwanda presidential elections that are due in August this year, 35-year-old businesswoman Diane Shima Rwigara who announced her will to contest against President Paul Kagame seems to be facing insurmountable task.
According to Rwanda’s National Electoral Commission (NEC), four candidates including Diane Shima didn’t fully meet the requirements of at least gathering a minimum of 600 signatures from supporters across 30 districts to second them for nomination.
However, NEC gave them a deadline of July 6th to submit the missing requirements. This announcement has left only two candidates, President Paul Kagame and Frank Habineza in the race for presidency.
A month back, Diane Shima was troubled with the leaked nude photos of herself striking different posses. She stood firm and overcame the scandal.
