The death of socialite Ivan Ssemwanga is starting to read like a Nigerian movie of five parts!
As the family puts to rest rumours that his death might be a stunt, another Ugandan has come up, petitioning court to order the exhuming of his body so that money he was buried with is recovered.
During Ssemwanga’s burial on Tuesday, members of his Rich Gang not only poured expensive champagne into his grave, but also splashed cash into his final resting place.
Ssemwanga a self-styled tycoon was known for his cash throwing displays in the night clubs and the Rich Gang members thought it was the best way to honour their fallen chairman.
Now a one Abey Mgugu has petitioned court to order Bank of Uganda and A-Plus Funeral Services who were in charge of Ssemwanga’s burial to exhume the deceased’s body and retrieve all the money he was buried with and put it back into circulation.
Mgugu contends that Ssemwanga was buried with Ugandan shillings, South African Rand and United State dollars.
“The purposes of the said monies put into the grave were misused and there was wastage of public property thereby violating social and economic rights of other people,” said Mgugu who claims he attended the burial.
