Mirror on the wall. Who is the fairest of them all? The maiden Miss Ma’di beauty pageant unveiled the 14 contestants for the maiden crown over the weekend. The contest that is a brainchild of model, Chandia Dorothy will crown the fairest of them all in Adjumani, Mayors Garden on Friday.
Here they are.
Contestant number one: Lokua Phiona
26 years old, from Palore village- Adjumani district. She is a business lady (crotcheting) whose role model is Barack Obama because he is intelligent, smart and a good speaker. She enjoys dancing.
Contestant two: Asio Diana
At 18 years old, she is a student at New castle highschool kansanga. Forua village- Adjumani is her village of origin. Her role model is herself because she believes everyday is an opportunity for her to better herself. She loves reading novels and singing.
Contestant number three: Kalsum Zawadi, a 19 year old student at Gulu central high school. Furua is her village and her role model is her mother because of her exemplary way of life. She enjoys singing and dancing.
Contestant number four: Mandera Kevin, 20 years old student from Pamoju village. Her role model is Chandia Dorothy Micheals because she is intelligent, humble, disciplined and educated. She loves to smile.
Contestant number five: Jokudu Getrude, 23 years old from Edua village, a relations officer at a successful fashion house in Kampala. She looks up to her sister who she is her whole package of perfection with a true soul of grace and integrity. She loves sharing knowledge.
Contestant number six: Ayat Hadijah, 19 years old from Moyo- Besia village. She is currently in her senior six vaccation. Her role model is Patricia Akello a very well known iternational model from Uganda. She loves her sense of vision. Ayat enjoys traveling to new places.
Contestant number seven: Lebu Laura, a 21 year old student from Perechi village. She looks up to Oprah winfrey because of her generosity, spirit of hard work and wealth. Lebu loves dancing and swimming.
Contestant number eight:Lindrio Esther, a 23 year old student from Araadri village. She is inspired by Akello Patricia because of her beautiful walk and being down to earth. Lindrio enjoys making friends and traveling.
Contestant number nine: Amadri Phiona. She is 19 years old from Metu quaters. Amadri is a student and looks up to Chandia Dorothy because of her good moral upbringing. She enjoys reading and making friends.
Contestant number ten: Maninyita Rose. At 23 years old, she is a law student. Panyanga village -Moyo district. Her role model is Michele Obama and she describes her as a strong woman. Rose enjoys learning more and more.
Contestant number 11:Irachaa Faith Anzoa, 20 years old from Metu village- moyo district. She is a student of customs clearing and forwarding at Nakawa M-TAC. Her mom inspires her because of her strength and intelligence. She loves poetry, music and making friends.
Contestant number 12: Jokudu Pamela 20 years old from central one village. She is a student who looks up to her mom because she has been a single mom that has been so supportive to all her children. Pamela loves adventure, making friends and music.
Contestant number 13: Abio Brenda, 24 years old and a front relations officer with National water and sewerage corporation Adjumani. Her village is Pagirinya. She looks up to her mother because of her hardwork and persistence. Brendah enjoys charity alot.
Contestant number 14: Lazea Francisca Irene , 23 year old student from Pamoju village. She looks up to her sister because she is hardworking and has played a big role upon her life. Lazea enjoys music and listening to music.
Who are the Ma’di?
The Mà’dí people live in the districts of Adjumani and Moyo in West Nile and parts of South Sudan.
