It all started as a rumour. Like many rumours, it was denied. However, today, Buikwe North MP Paul Musoke “finally” presented a proposal to Parliament that intends to ask government to procure two helicopters; one for the Speaker and the other for the Chief Justice.
According to the proposal, the government is tasked to procure a chopper for the Speaker and another for the office of the Chief Justice.
Paul Musoke stated that the proposal will enable strengthen the independence of the different arms of government.
“I strongly support these arms of government to be independent. I will you an example; yesterday the Speaker was vetting the IGP and he is the very IGP she has been pleading to incase of an emergency for air transport. In simpler terms, that is already conflict of interest. If the country can appreciate the independence of the legislature, I will be the happiest person”, he explained.
Hon. Musoke is also a professional pilot. Earlier this year, the Parliament vehemently denied these claims.
