You must have heard reports claiming that the 19 floor Mapeera House which houses the headquarters of Catholic Church owned Centenary Bank, is to be demolished. According to the reports, the highest floors of the towering building makes it possible to have a vantage view of State House Nakasero posing a security threat to the President’s life.

However, Centenary Bank MD Fabian Kasi has denied the reports stating that they are false alarms.

“Centenary Bank wishes to inform its customers and the general public that Mapeera House, our head office that also hosts our main branch shall remain open for business during normal working hours. Please disregard false reports about it being demolished that have been circulating”, he stated in a response to the reports.

Ironically, President Museveni opened the ultra-modern Shs100b building in 2012.
