Parliamentary Forum on Ethics and Integrity Chairman, Mr James Nsaba Buturo who previously served as Minister of Ethics and Integrity has strongly condemned KCCA’s directive to arrest and prosecute street preachers.
“Uganda cannot turn itself into a godless country that can ban the gospel with ease. By plotting to ban street preaching, KCCA is manifesting into an agent of Satan, Butoro stated yesterday.
He urged KCCA to immediately suspend the plan “and instead regulate the way in which the preachers spread their word, as some of them are seen to go hard on their congregation on taxis.”
KCCA listed street preaching among the increasing cases of unapproved activities in the city that contravene local governments, others being street trading, pasting of posters/banners and mobile advertising screens/loudspeakers.
