Democratic Party is facing hard times with the top leaders embroiled in counter accusations. DP deputy president Fred Mukasa Mbidde has refuted all claims linking him to the ruling party NRM after certain members have accused him of serving interests of the NRM.
While appearing on NBS TV morning breeze, Hon. Mbidde revealed that he has hustled his way from vending newspapers to owning shares. He stated that those who are linking him to NRM because of his “heavy wallet” are mistaken.
“All my life, I have struggled to make Democratic Party. I have been working all my life. I’ve struggled from being a newspaper vendor to owning shares in newspapers companies. Linking me to NRM because of my bank balance will not help”, Mbidde stated.
Mbidde accused Hon. Betty Nambooze of neglecting party meetings.
“Hon. Nambooze is a National Executive Committee member and she has never attended any meeting. Members choose not to attended NEC meeting but start an apocalypse in the party and accuse members of being paper tigers,” Mbidde explained
On Sunday, Police forcefully dispersed the DP meeting that was spear headed by Nambooze and other party officials in the greater Masaka. However, the members put the blame on party president Norbert Mao and deputy Mbidde for working with police to frustrate their meeting.
