Gor Mahia, a giant in Kenyan football arrived yesterday as they await a thrilling international friendly against Arua based outfit Onduparaka FC. With four days to the kick off of the second round of the Azam Uganda Premier League where Onduparaka FC faces a tricky away fixture against table leaders KCCA, the “Caterpillars” have set themselves a tough build up for the title race.
Onduparaka will tomorrow host Kenya’s Gor Mahia club in their first international friendly at Namboole stadium. Yesterday Onduparaka’s 18-year-old captain Shaban Mohamed joined the team training at Namboole stadium for the first time after taking time off to rest after Gabon AFCON finals.
Before the kick off, Onduparaka management will officially unveil all their new recruits to the fans. Gor Mahia is second on the Kenya Premier League table with 54 points, only 7 points behind table leaders Tusker FC.
The Caterpillars start the second half of the season third placed thanks to their exciting display in the first round.
Shaban will face fellow Cranes teammate Godfrey Walusimbi who plies his trade in Kenya.
