Uganda Cranes might not have to wait for another 39 years to compete in the next AFCON. Our boys have been handed a relatively “easy group” for the next qualifiers. CAF yesterday released qualification groups for 2019 AFCON which will be held in Cameroon.
Uganda was placed in group L alongside Cape Verde, Tanzania and Lesotho. The group is fairly easy with our strongest opponent being Cape Verde which has a variety of quality players because most play professional football in Portugal. Tanzania and Lesotho are good teams but less of a threat.
We are hours away to the awaited 2017 AFCON Gabon as it kick off tomorrow with the hosts Gabon playing against Guinea-Bissau. Cranes are expected to land in Gabon today evening and report to Port Gentil. Our first game against Ghana will be on Tuesday 17 next week at 7pm.
