The biggest problem Police is facing is mistrust. When we over deploy, it’s interpreted differently— says Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima

As voting on the presidential age limit bill is expected to be carried out today, police has promised to give sufficient security to make secure the process is peacefully conducted. However, according to Emilian Kayima, the Police spokesperson, the public  misinterprets police’s ways of operation.

“The biggest problem we (police) are facing is mistrust. When we over deploy, it’s interpreted differently,” Kayima explained.

“We love to see a situation that is respectful of laws and rules. In case there is an anomaly, it should be sorted. The sanctity of Parliament must be respected,” he added.

On the issue of yesterday’s suspected security personnel in the parliamentary chapel, Kayima said people in uniform are always officers unless otherwise.
