Kenya’s leading opposition party National Super Alliance (NASA)   has postponed the  swearing in of Raila Ondinga as the president of Kenya.

In a statement released by the NASA party on Sunday; it read, “We are aware that this will be a disappointment to the people of Kenya who were eagerly waiting for this occasion. But we wish to assure them that our resolve has not changed. Specifically, we wish to reiterate that any national dialogue must have electoral justice on the agenda. We are not interested in sharing illegitimate dictatorial power.”

The planned inauguration ceremony was due this week on Tuesday December 12 but according to the party officials, they have to respect Kenya’s Independence Day as it happens on the same date. The party is yet to decide on the actual date when the controversial ceremony will be rescheduled.
