Red Pepper directors and editors denied bail, sent to Luzira prison

The  directors and editors of Red Pepper publication have been denied bail but rather sent to Luzira prison by the Buganda Road Magistrates court.

The magistrate declined to grant them bail application on grounds that Abdul Salam Waiswa who was borrowed from  Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) to handle the case on behalf of the striking state prosecutors needs adequate time within which to scrutinize the documents presented by the sureties.

According to court, the accused have been willfully and repeatedly used their computers to disturb the peace and privacy of president Museveni, Gen Saleh and Lt Gen Tumukunde. The accused will return to court on December 5 2017 for determination of their bail application.
