New police spokesperson Kayima admits police image is bad, vows to clean it

The newly appointed police spokesperson Emilian Kayima has this morning admitted that police image in public is still lacking but vowed to clean it during his term of office.

Kayima, who was appearing on a local TV station, said journalists have in most cases ignored the good things that police does, and instead pay attention to the bad things, something that has left their image  tainted.

He also trashed rumours that his predecessor Asan Kasingye had been fired or sacked, explaining that he just had too much on his table and being relieved of the position of police spokesperson was done for his own benefit and in good faith.

Asked how he got to this position, Kayima said it was a surprise.

“I don’t know why I was appointed because the appointment was even immediate but I’m very happy about it”, he stated.
