MPs rush to withdraw Shs29m Age Limit consultation funds, disappointed to find no money

Many Members of Parliament (MPs) have not yet received the Shs29 million for consultations on the Constitutional Amendment Bill. After the “manna” fell from Parliament coffers, MPs, this morning rushed to the bank. However, some MPs left the bank halls bitterly disappointed after they did not find the cash reflected on their accounts.

“It is not yet on my account,” Ms Monicah Amoding, the Kumi District Woman Representative, told Daily Monitor.

According to Daily Monitor, some MPs started checking their accounts yesterday evening.

Mr John Baptist Nambeshe (Manjiya County) said: “I have been checking the account since last evening and I haven’t seen the money. Maybe they are segregating against those who are opposed to amending the Constitution.”

However, some were not moved while others received their cash.

Kabarole Woman MP, Ms Sylvia Rwabwogo said she had not checked her account because she was busy  by the time Parliament announced that the money had been released.
