A group of leaders in Mbarara, Ntungamo, Buhweju and Kiruhura districts have started mobilising the locals to fund-raise money which they hope to handover to the president as “retirement package”.
According to Daily Monitor, they appeal to Ugandans interested in witnessing a peaceful transition to contribute as low as Shs10,000.
President Museveni who is 73 years is expected to retire once he clocks 75 years of age.The group also calls upon residents to isolate MPs supporting the age limit removal stating that the country could backslide into anarchy.
