Review: Cindy proves she is a class apart at “A Night With Cindy Concert”

Cindy, The King Herself held her maiden solo concert yesterday and put an eclectic performance that left the crowd at Imperial Royale glued on their seats till 2am!! Yes, “A Night With Cindy” concert lasted that long.

Backed by her band, she ensured that music fans had something to talk about beyond the concert.  Her eclectic performance presented a kind of  stage performance many have never witnessed in Uganda. No wonder, global trotter, Eddy Kenzo was so awed by her stage performance that he declared her “Uganda’s Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Beyonce all wrapped in one package” after performing at the concert.

Performing alongside her band and all female dance crew,  she maintained a strong stage performance throughout the show.  Her energy which was further magnified by the cheering crowd. She commanded the microphone like a goddess.  She took the fans on her music journey. She fired up the fans with her hit singles, ” Ajokyakya, Selecta, Zalawa, Sample Dat, Up in the air” among others.

Cindy exuded sensuality throughout her performance. She sprinkled messages of sex, romance and relationship upheavals through songs like “Mbikooye”, ”Fire”, “Tick”, and “Sample dat”. The crowd sang along and got to their feet. Her performance of nostalgic Blu*3 songs had the crowd on their feet dancing and singing along.

Did I say, the concert went almost up to 2am? Yes, crowds kept trickling in and by 10am when Cindy hit the stage, she had a respectable crowd. In  between her performances were performances by comedian Mariachi, Voltage Music, Dufla, Eddy Kenzo and few upcoming acts.

Cindy’s concert was one of a kind. She proved she is truly “The King Herself”. Fans owe it to themselves to witness this greatness in big numbers. She played her part effortlessly, undismayed.
